Sunday Post: September 9

Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly over at Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. Let us know what books you’ve bought, borrowed or received for review!

Matched by Ally Condie

Another book to feed my dystopian fetish!! Though there are conflicting reviews, I’m liking the matchmake idea. Ky and Xander, when is my turn to choose? /sighs

Starcrossed by Josephine Angelini

Ok, stop. I. Need. To. Breathe. Ahhhh!!! Finally got my paws on Starcrossed, Helen and Lucas have my shattered heart…

Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Mass

I’ve emptied my wallet for this one (every coin included), all the badassism is knocking me out. Hail Celaena, The Assassin of YA Times!

What books did YOU receive this week? :)

  1. Wow you’ve really got me excited about starcrossed and throne of glass, matched sounds too much like the giver for my liking (and I hate hate hate ripped off books) ><. My dear, my TBR list is like POOF – suddenly grows in size – haha. Hmmmmm how dare you proclaim Celaena the Assasin. VALEK IS NUMBER ONE OKAYYYYYYYYYYYY. <3 <3

    • Awww Charmy being all protective over her Valek? Haha, sure no problem, tell me if you change your mind about Calaena after reading Throne of Glass! To be honest, TBR piles are tricky issues… Intimidating in fact!

      • YEAH VALEK NUMBER ONE WHOOOOOOHOOO!! You should go read and review poison study!! I’m sure it’ll leave stupid grins on your face when reading it hehhehhehh. :DDDDD

Today I went to the library and despite drowning in the amount of revision we have to do *snorts* I borrowed two books! The Catastrophic History of You and Me (which I’ve read the start, funny but not really liking it a lot, but still reading in hope of it improving along the way) and When The Sea is Rising Red which you should go check out cos the synopsis sounds ULTRA COOL!!

    • Heehee I heard the last in this series is out soon so I decided it’s prime time to start on this series without suffering from the wait. Heard Starcrossed and Throne of Glass are awesome, enjoy your week too :)

    • Certainly looking forward to those redeeming qualities, I guess that would be the UK cover for Throne of Glass, it’s not…. Bad, but not much wow factor to it either. You know they say never judge a book by it’s cover and I won’t judge for Throne of Glass :P Enjoy the week!

  2. I read Matched and Crossed last fall. I really enjoyed Matched but Crossed was a disappointment. Hopefully book three will redeem the series! Oh and Throne of Glass I still need to check that out. Thanks for stopping by my blog! Have a great week!

  3. I definitely think the UK version of Throne of Glass has the more “kick-ass” cover. The US one really sort of failed in that department. That being said, I didn’t love the book; hope you have better luck! And I have an e-book of Starcrossed that I need to read, but have no idea when I’ll finally get around to it. :)

    Enjoy all your books!

    My Book Haul Post

    • Now that everyone says the UK cover is better, I really should get myself a pair of spectacles! Only thought that the UK cover was scary, underestimated it’s coolness! :P Me too… I have a huge pile of ebooks too gaah. Distraught :(

  4. I actually did enjoy Matched – I think I originally gave it 4/5 stars. There were some blah moments and things I was a little confused on, but overall I though it way pretty enjoyable. I was, however, totally let down by the second book Crossed. I felt like it was so far removed from the first book and it felt like a totally different story! But hopefully you’ll enjoy both :)

    • I’m hopping around the books now as and when I get some free time and I must say I’m loving Starcrossed!! The characters and their tension is just so captivating I couldn’t stop :D Just started on a few chapters of Throne of Glass and I’m imagining it as some THG-arena-games >:)

  5. Hi there!
I see we’re both tour hosts for Buy the Book Tours – I’m your newest follower =)
Wow, that’s a really great haul, lucky you! Also, good luck with exams.
