Sunday Post: February 3

Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly over at Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer to share what’s been going.

YAY! It’s the end of the week!

I’m finally getting into the mood for school and I just stayed up till 1AM yesterday to finish maths. /yawns/ I should write the next NYT Bestseller titled “Life of a Sad Student” (just kidding!). And I should visit my pillow (not kidding). ANYWAY!! Sunday Post :)

THE FANTASTIC BABIES

Dark Seraphine by Kasonndra Leigh

A Song for Julia by Charles Sheehan-Miles

Speechless by Hannah Harrington

Thank you Kasonndra, AToMR Tours and Harlequin for the books!

HOT OFF THE PRESS

WHAT’S HAPPENING?

Jamie from The Perpetual Page-Turner shares her obsession over book acknowledgements and I really love the examples she gave! We all know writing a book is a long and tiring process but these moving, heartfelt thanks are just <3 I’m going to be reading every single one of them acknowledgements too, that’s where we really learn about the author!

Blogging Scandals are on the rise again. Wendy Darling from The Midnight Garden posted her experience with a plagiarist and so did Giselle from Xpresso Reads, with screenshots of word-lifting. It’s kindof… Depressing :(

Heyho how’s this Sunday?

  1. Ooooh, I’ve never heard of Dark Seraphine, but I’m excited to see your review for it! I recently read A SONG FOR JULIA and I quite enjoyed it. SPEECHLESS. Again, another review I’m so excited to read. Happy, happy reading, Alicia! <3

    • Thank you, Jen!! Haha your enthusiasm for Saving June made me very excited for it and it clearly didn’t disappoint so I’m going to take your recommendations very seriously /strokes beard/

    • I’m reading it now and the references feel very close to my own teen life! The title Speechless itself is very worth looking into, hope it’ll turn out great, happy reading to you too :)

  2. I spy that your haul this week has a blue theme! How interesting. I haven’t read Dark Seraphine or A Song for Julia before (read: LEND ME) but ohh!! Isn’t the author of Speechless the one who wrote Saving June? It sounds terribly good, especially since it involves *cough* gossips *cough*, waiting for your review, happy reading!

    • IT DOES?!

      /checks haul/

Oh riiiight… They all have that blue hue to them haha! Must be my marine theme. Or some blue magic. Hrmph. Yup, Hannah Harrington must be a genius for coming up with 2 such awesome books, I’m planning the review to be up sometime this month, look out! ;)

    • I’m 20% through and already enjoying it, I really wonder how Hannah Harrington can make something unique hit close to home, and let something ordinary seem stunning!! Happy reading to you too :)

  3. Interesting books this week. I hope you like them. I’ve totally fallen in love with your background. The moving turtles and dolphins (or maybe I’m not as awake as I should be). Happy reading!

    Thanks for visiting my haul.

    • No it’s not you, I love scrolling up and down just to watch the fishes swim wahaha. Now you know why I chose this theme, the dolphins are SO CUTE!! <– deprived and demented kid

Ignore me! xD Thanks for dropping by.

    • I didn’t know of this cover either (until I saw it on Netgalley) and I thought it appealed to a different audience than the white American cover, it’s much more eyecatching for people like me who ADORE BLUEEEE! Haha, just some random thoughts, but I agree the title looks like kindergarten’s font xD

THE ALCHEMY OF FOREVER IS FANTABULOUS. LOVED IT <3

  4. Oooh, you’ve changed things up. It looks rather cool. Hope you enjoy Speechless, I’ve heard great things about it! :)

    • I saw this theme on the WordPress dashboard and I know I have to use it– the moving fishes are awfully adorable! I’m reading and enjoy Speechless, but there are some issues on bullying that disturb me :/

      • That’s unfortunate to hear since I have it to read, but I hope things change and you end up smoothing out all the disturbances you have with Speechless! :)

    • The last thing I’ll want to see is all that arguing and hate and sigh. It never comes to an end :( Anyways, I’m going to stay away from the commotion and sit in my little corner with my books, Happy Sunday! ^-^

  5. I haven’t seen any of those books before, but they look good. I love reading the acknowledgements in books for some reason. Especially when the author thanks bloggers! Thanks for stopping by my haul this week. I’ll let you know how Article 5 is.

    • Heh me too, whenever I see a quote from or blog name from a fellow book blogger, I feel an immense sense of pride! I’m really curious to Article 5, hope you’ll enjoy it :)

  6. I have to admit I am steering clear of the blogger drama. You start following it and you get all absorbed and you can waste a lot of time. Besides it makes me feel yucky. I rather liked Incarnate but hated the cliffhanger, haven’t read Asunder yet. I also need to read Speechless. Hope you go find that pillow soon!

    • Exactly, once I get absorbed, I’ll be all stalking for information and neglecting what I’m supposed to do (hint Maths hint)… And end up feeling even worse about all the dirty dealings happening :( Incarnate disappointed me quite a bit so I’m not sure if I’ll pick up Asunder, but I’m definitely loving Speechless!

    • OH YOU HAVE NO IDEA. Our teacher must be insane to give us a day’s notice before a quiz. Not to mention all that worksheets. Asdfghjkl. Haha, thanks for dropping by xD

    • Thank you Joanne! I’m obsessed with scrolling the fishes and turtles and dolphins :D Review for A Song for Julia are quite mixed, and it’s a New Adult (I haven’t read any of these before) so… Going to be judging carefully for myself!

    • Among the many covers, I think this blue one for Speechless is the most eye-catching! I’m always afraid that after I read a book, it’s too good for any words that I can come up with haha, enjoy reading :D

  7. I haven’t read any of these books, but I really want to read Speechless! I can’t imagine not talking. :/

Thanks for stopping by my blog and following! I’m following you back. I love your blog theme, by the way! I love fishies, and the worm is so cute!

Have you bought Ashen Winter yet?!

    • Me neither!! I’m an -annoying- chatterbox and reading about Chelsea being bullied yet not able to speak is really frustrating! Thank you, Ginger, I love fishes too haha :D

UHH OHH not yet, I somehow never find it in bookstores near my house :(
